summer cup 09

Good afternoon everyone,

I hope i find you all well and ready to go for what i hope will be another
down to the wire summer of hockey, you should all be confirming your
summercup fixtures with each other and sending your list of home games to
Myself and Lee Burden, who will coordinate and prepare the cup table.

Here are some reminders on what needs to happen over the next few weeks.
Please read and fully understand these points.

1) Please not that all player registrations will need to be completed
through Ron Christison of the EIHAREC section before the 27th March to be
eligible to play in this years cup. I will be very strict on this point and
no players will be eligible if registered after this date !!!

2) Although i will be able to pull your team lists from the EIHAREC
website, i will need you to please e-mail me with who your goalies are for
the website.

3) All home fixtures confirmed and booked through the EIHAREC website and
sent to the summercup coordinators.

4) any questions or queries, raised though me or Lee.

After the cup has started.

1) Managers to ensure games go ahead and officials/gameday help is sorted

2) Team lists printed off for every game for both teams!!! ( very
important, no team list is a 5 minutes penalty and the game becomes non
checking !!!, oh and you lose a point. )

3) Game sheets filled in with visiting team getting a copy, coordinator
and EIHA ( Tony Wood ), getting a copy within 3 days of the fixture being
played!!!. Again i need to be very strict on this point, teams have failed
to send copies of the game sheet to the appropriate people in the past
which has led to issues. Teams WILL lose points for failing on this point,
either post or email game sheets ASAP.

Finally on a sad note, the Streatham Chiefs will NOT be competing in this
years cup. I have spoken to their manager, Jimmy Gardener, who is having
issues in getting players to commit to a full summer of hockey. Streatham
have been in the cup from the start and this is the first time they have
been unable to compete. The Panthers will be playing the Chiefs in
challenge matches over the summer but any of you that have already booked
Summercup games with the Chiefs can either cancel them or play them as
challenge games. Streatham are hoping to be back next year.
